Peter Salett + Michael Arthur : Suite for the Summer Rain / Dance of the Yellow Leaf is a uniquely meditative show for adults and kids, an immersive sonic and visual experience that unfolds in front of the audience. Film composer/singer-songwriter Peter Salett, a “downtown folk legend” (Time Out NY) who has opened for the likes of The Swell Season and They Might Be Giants, performs his wistful song cycles backed by a full band and accompanied by renowned artist Michael Arthur’s evocative, improvised ink illustrations, which unfurl along with the music. Each song cycle, which also include sounds from the natural world, is around 35 minutes long and there is a 10 minute intermission.
““Salett stands apart because of his voice, a rich and burnished instrument he obviously cultivates as much as he does unforgettable melodies and sharply drawn narratives.””
““Michael Arthur is one of the most talented young artists I’ve ever met.””
